KRISTOF VERMEERSCH

GENERAL MANAGER

Kristof has been with Modular for three years and three months and has not held any other roles within the company.

Today, he serves as General Manager. In this role, he leads the day-to-day management of Modular, ensuring the organisation operates in line with its strategic objectives and financial parameters. He is responsible for shaping and executing the strategic plan, translating long-term ambition into clear direction and decisive action.

His team includes all members of the management team, the sales leaders, as well as Thomas and Herlinde, reflecting his overarching responsibility across the organisation.

Joke Dierick

Finance Business Partner

Joke joined Modular 12 years ago on a temporary basis as a Junior Financial Controller. Today, Modular’s finances hold no secrets for her, and she leads the all-female finance team.

Together, they continuously refine financial processes and reporting structures, ensuring transparent, reliable figures that support well-informed decision-making. Joke prepares budgets and long-term financial plans. She keeps a close eye on performance by analysing monthly results and KPIs.

By identifying deviations early and initiating targeted improvements, she helps safeguard the company’s financial health. More than that, she translates figures and forecasts into clear, action-driven insights that enable teams to move forward with focus and confidence.

Rik Scheldeman

Digital and business transformation manager

Rik has been working at Modular for 31 years, overtime not included. His previous employer was even a Modular client, so he had already been in touch with the company eight years earlier.

Over the years, he has taken on various roles: from ICT and Procurement to Operations and Commercial Service. For many years now, Rik has formed a strong tandem with Ghislain. In addition, he works closely with leads and key users across our digital projects.

Rik actively seeks collaboration with anyone who dares to grow professionally. He describes his role as follows: “Accompanying people to become more authentic, connected and aligned, with a strong focus on digital and business transformation management.”

Frederik Vanslambrouck

Head of R&D

Frederik has been working at Modular since June 2002. His direct team consists of Bert, Emile, Henk, Jeffrey, Scott, Tom, Vincent, Werner and Wouter.

Although his official title is ‘Head of R&D’, his focus centres more broadly on the global I2M process. He plays an active role in shaping the product strategy. Within the product development process, he takes the lead in delivering and structuring the product data component (PIM), all the way through to its implementation on the website. At product level, he acts as the link between R&D and aftersales, following up on and evaluating any aftersales issues. He also carries financial responsibility for the R&D budget.

In his role within the management team, he contributes to the corporate strategy and represents the voice of the product.

Kevin Vervenne

Belux and France sales leader

Kevin has been part of Modular for over 17 years. He started his journey as a profile draughtsman, building a strong technical foundation before moving into sales for East and West Flanders. From there, he stepped into international markets as Export Manager and later Export Sales Leader.

He then took on the role of Sales Leader for Belgium, a responsibility he now combines with France. In this position, Kevin coaches and supports the Belux and French teams in building strong, long-term partnerships. He inspires prescribers by carefully selecting the right events and initiatives to strengthen connections and create meaningful brand experiences.

Kevin guides teams in their project approach by offering perspective. He actively seeks strategic partnerships with complementary brands to elevate Modular’s presence and reinforce its relevance in the market. At the same time, he continuously looks for ways to sharpen and improve the company’s market strategy across departments.

Kurt Kerkhof

Operations & Quality Manager

Kurt has been working at Modular for 22 years, unofficially since 2003 as an interim, and officially since 2004 on contract.

Over the years, he has grown through several roles within the company. He started as Warehouse Supervisor, then moved on to Internal Sales Manager, followed by Field Quality Engineer and later Quality Manager.

Today, he serves as Operations & Quality Manager. He oversees production, industrialisation projects and the supply chain within his sub-vertical, driving operational excellence and helping shape the factory of the future.

He is responsible for purchasing, supply chain design, safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, he continuously strengthens processes to keep operations efficient and future-ready.

Astrid De Couvreur

Marketing Manager

Astrid has been part of Modular for more than 17 years, starting her journey as Junior Product Manager before growing into the role of Product Manager. Over time, she developed a deep understanding of both the products and the market they serve.

Today, Astrid holds the position of Marketing Manager. In this role, she bridges product marketing and corporate communication, ensuring alignment between what we create and how we tell its story. She translates Modular’s brand strategy into compelling, inspiring storytelling that connects products, people and purpose in one clear narrative.

Sylvie Descheemaeker

Project & Partnerships Manager

Sylvie will celebrate 21 years at Modular this June. She started her journey in Customer Service and later helped shape the newly created Projectcare team. Around seven and a half years ago, Sylvie became responsible for Projectcare, and six and a half years ago her scope expanded to include Customer Service and Aftersales. Last year, Lightplanning was added to her responsibilities, with Hanne taking on the role of Customer Support Manager as an intermediate layer within Customer Service.

Today, Sylvie holds the position of Project & Partnerships Manager, with a growing focus on strengthening external partnerships and exploring new opportunities beyond the organisation. Her teams include Lightplanning, Projectcare, Aftersales and Customer Service.

In her role, she oversees internal services, ensuring strong alignment and collaboration with international internal teams. At the same time, she develops and nurtures partnerships with existing partners while actively seeking new collaborations that help expand Modular’s reach and impact.

Astrid Callewaert

HR Business Partner

Astrid has been working at Modular for four and a half years. In her role, she connects people and strategy, acting as a strategic sparring partner for the management team and our people managers. She aligns business goals with HR strategy and supports organisational development and change, always seeking the right balance between business needs and people priorities.

She drives talent management by developing and supporting employees while coaching leaders. She plays an active role in change management and wellbeing, implementing new ways of working with a strong focus on behaviour and company culture. As Modular continues to evolve, she ensures employees feel engaged, supported and empowered to grow along with the organisation.

In addition, she oversees labour relations and policy compliance, ensuring alignment with employment law. Through data and analysis, she monitors absenteeism, turnover and engagement, stepping in where needed and grounding decisions in clear insights.
