Wall lighting fixtures

Wall light fixtures. Setting the mood.

Wall light fixtures set the mood. Adding ambient light and depth to your décor. They also provide the necessary illumination for safety, accent architectural features or serve as a work of art on their own.

Used creatively, they can add a homely feeling to non-residential environments. Think for example, of a meeting room in an office, or the waiting room in a hospital.

Light. Up, down, up and down.

Uplighting and downlighting is all about creating light effects. Uplights can provide a wash effect or create accent lighting. Depending on the angle of the beam, they can accentuate a high ceiling, lifting up and enlarging the room.

Downlights can add ambience to a room, but also for practical purposes, light the ground below. While a combination of up and downlighting is decorative, makes the space feel higher and creates ambience.

Duell wall gives every room a softer touch allowing you to play with colour and accent lighting.

Guiding lights. Leading the way.

Wall light fixtures also have their practical uses, as guiding lights in a hall or stairway. Nukav (which means edgy) is a playful Modular design for orientation lighting. While Doze (our box of light) is more serious, a circular central lighting. Both add something special as wall light fixtures on a hallway or stairs.

Ceiling lights. Perfect wall lights.

To our way of thinking, what goes on the ceiling can also go on the wall. Perfect Modular ceiling lights examples include Médard 42 (stand-alone or in combination with Pista). This award winning design is available in different warm colours. Marbul is a much loved product, available in one, two and three lamps, for creative configurations. And Rektor, from the Latin word for ruler, which has also won a design award. Style with proven substance.

Light art. Three masterpieces.

If you’re looking for wall light fixtures to add extra creativity to your lighting design, may we introduce these three pieces from our wall fixture collection: Nomad and Bold.

Nomad is classic 80’s industrial styling and 2018 technology. Still one of our most popular wall lights. Bold: strong lines and oblique angles, this surreal architectural shape looks different from every place you stand.

Creating a wall of emotions

We rely on natural light to regulate our waking and sleeping hours, and our mood. In interior environments, such as homes and hospitality settings, artificial light picks up where exterior light leaves off. So, recreating the right ambience and lighting indoors, calls for the perfect balance between different types of light. Functional downlighters, and in fact most lighting from above, tell us it's time to be energized and alert. Softer, seductive wall lighting on the other hand, changes the mood and invites us to get together and relax.

At Modular, we love the special time of day that's unofficially defined by sunset. We characterized it as a blend of cosiness, emotions and inspiration. It’s why we look at wall lighting as a way of accentuating the horizon level and capturing that feeling of warmth and perhaps a glass of wine with friends. Modular explores several options as ideal ways to expose emotions on the wall, be they soft and composed, or artistic and outspoken.

From a façade with character

Art is a catalyst for emotions and we like to include it in our work. We love to stimulate designers and invite them to play with art and feeling for their wall expressions. Inspired by mind-boggling prismatic architecture, Dent is a play of light and shadow. A must-have item in your shortlist. Alive and dynamic from one angle, yet minimalistic and understated from the other. Dent’s slender design highlights its own light when it’s lighted, and its own art when the light is off. With Dent L as part of the family, the 3 sizes and trademark diagonal line will inspire you to create puzzle-like compositions that light a subtle path of light on a wall. Experiment with patterns of white and black, square and rectangular, horizontal and vertical. Draw a soothing directional flow, with the line of one Dent picking up where the other one ends. Dent will never leave you hanging.

Completely off the minimalistic spectrum scale, lies Bold. A unique design commanding attention and emotion. Its light, almost ironically indirect, is beautifully hidden by an intricate, angular design. Play with many of Bold and observe a dynamic shape forming on the wall, itself becoming art in motion. No doubt about it, Bold leaves the onlooker with feeling.

To a wall that says relax

For a more approachable wall luminaire bringing warm lighting indoors and defining intimate spaces, there are plenty of calmer, yet stylish options. The simple, tubular shape of Duell, or the naughtier Trapz inviting interior colour to show a little more. Sulfer expresses a subtle, rectangular shape, while its mysterious cousin, Split, reveals nothing but a sliver of warm light. A selection of anodized colours reminds us of warm sunset tones and offers a natural, warm light. Well-positioned at horizon level, these mood makers will pick up where the sunset whispers have a nice evening.

Enjoy the sunset next time you get the chance. Imagine your wall expression sharing a silent, subtle glow. Maybe it even participates further in the aesthetics of the room as an artistic object of light.
