The University Inholland Haarlem offers multiple study programmes spread across the campus building, of in total 34,000 m². The new entrance area provides space for receptions, meetings, events and catering facilities. The inviting coffee bar "Cococafe" is positioned in the middle of the atrium. The round bar with various seating areas around it gives structure to the imposing space. The atrium is lit by large rectangular light lines. These enhance the architecture and create a vertical connection with the other floors. The existing canteen has been transformed into an inviting and contemporary work café. Various lunch and lounge areas have been positioned around the large fireplace. Where you can meet, study together and relax. In the work café, the existing ceiling has been replaced by sturdy and recycled acoustic spray work. This way, more height has been created and it has an industrial look & feel. The new LED lighting gives the whole space a pleasant atmosphere. In the right balance between cosy warm light and practical working light for studying. Sustainability and vitality are very important to Inholland. These core values are visibly reflected in the interior design. Greenery and plants play a major role in the design. Various planters create space and accentuate the sightlines. Large moss walls contribute to the excellent acoustics. The hanging gardens reinforce the connection between outside and inside.
